Expect this to be a running theme in the new few weeks, with websites finally getting around to naming their game of the year winners.
So far we’ve had Eurogamer include FIFA 10 in their Games of 2009 feature, and now Kotaku have named FIFA 10 best team sports game and (the big one) best sports game of the year.

Big win so far for Rutter, Paterson and co. More GOTY results as they happen.

This is an awesomely hysterical article, written by the guys over at BigSoccer.com.
What with the US landing themselves in the same World Cup group as England, the article details how they feel David Rutter has made the FIFA series to purposely distract the US players from actually training and getting good at football (any excuse…).
Whilst a fun read, the undertone of the piece is no doubt another pat on the back for Rutter, proving just what sort of impact the FIFA series is having all over the world. Click here to read the article.
Thanks as always to the ever present Alexrstone for the heads up.

Just when you thought EA wouldn’t be releasing any downloadable content to do with the World Cup because of their dedicated game next year, we read this on twitter:
FIFA 10 Free DLC available today on X360; 5 World Cup kits for Germany, Spain, France, Argentina and Mexico. Coming to PS3 in late January.
Its fantastic news, and one that comes as a total surprise. A bit unfortunate for all the PS3 owners who have to wait an extra month for the content, but overall great stuff from EA!
