1UP Interview David Rutter
Nice little interview this I have to say from 1UP.com who quiz David Rutter on what he actually means by “revolution” and many other aspects of FIFA 12 including, EASFC, hand balls, match presentation, pressure, momentum, you name it it’s all in there. As well as answering the big questions there are also a few subtle hints dotted throughout the interview with one in particular catching our interest for the upcoming July 11th embargo.
Rutter on FIFA 12 Online: “It’s still a really big focus for us, and I believe that you’ll be very impressed in July by what we’ve done… another revolutionary thing.”
So it seems revolution is coming to FIFA 12 Online too but what could it be? If FIFA 12 adopts the same Online League structure that we saw for the first time in FIFA World Cup 2010 last year, I actually won’t be able to contain my joy. Please let it be that…
dibils says:
man how slow are you guys, this is atleast a few days old
Smiley_Face says:
@dibils
God grow up.
Be grateful they posted it for the other people, a few days is hardly old.

You’re missing out on the really golden interview from MCVUK. The days when FIFA was PES’s critical inferior have long gone. And this year’s title is shaping up to be the greatest game int he series yet. Rutter apparently took charge in FIFA 09, which was the game that began to turn the tables in Pro Evo. (FIFA 08 had a 6 higher metacritic than PES 2008).
The praise is pretty amazing throughout, but best of all is when MCVUK ask him whether he’d go and turn PES around as he had FIFA, implying pretty strongly that PES is as far in the mud as FIFA was in 2005. Thank God that’s not true.

Dibils, if you knew this article existed, why you haven’t post the link in the forum section???
this FSb guys are working here freely! on their free time!! They have a life and others entertainment!!
anyway good article! interesting…
The real revolution will be for EA to understand the tactics in the game, and the basis of the football! To identify all the basis in a football game and incorpore them in their game just as doing very well Konami and Seabass!!Technology is great but we want also a realistic game in term of tactics and basis!!This will be a real Revoltion and the best point is that it will cost for them less less less than their impact engine and precision dribbling…Just ask us, we will happily show them what’s wrong with their game in terms of tactics and knowledge of football
Keloo says:
Sounds interesting, can’t wait to try it. It’s an improvement for sure, at least over FIFA 11 PC (which was fifa 10 basically ). Already preordered it. :D
dibils says:
i am pretty sure it was posted in the forums already hence why i didnt post it there…..
hell i think i found the interview from there
yella says:
still no real “new” information bout 12, July/August could make or break it for me depending on career mode (its so empty and boring its not even worth playing atm) and depending on the gameplay of the demo, and if the features are that gamechanging
Keloo says:
Is the career mode worse then the manager mode from fifa 10(fifa 11 PC) ? If “yes”, why exactly ? Cause I really wanna know, since so many keep complaining that the career mode is so broken.

Can you add a copy of the full interview here that 1UP site has been down for hours and I can’t access the interview…

European PES boss said that pes 2012 will destroy fifa12 in gamplay qualities John Murphy

Can Maktar says:
Frankly PES doesn’t do it for me. PES has been a joke since the next-gen 2008 version and they are way too slow and that so called boss isn’t the most active Team Leader’s I’ve seen… It takes ages before he decides to answer questions that are on his twitter account. Way too amateurish. That shows a lack of ambition for me and I’m not expecting much of PES. I hope they surprise me though. Unlike many, I’d like the idea of having two good football simulations every year…
1UP website is still down, by the way. Please help me out guys, isn’t there another site where I can read the interview?

Agree with “theirfan38″ above man. Gameplay improvement is THE most important aspect to focus, to my opinion, especially on attacking AI ( I am talking about your teammate AI). It is horrible on overlap running in general. I am focusing on general gemeplay herer to discuss. Your teammates don’t create space by running and pulling nearby defenders. Also I want to point out in FIFA 11′s the way defenders mark opponent players- they just go right behind them no matter what angles they are positioning from the goal. This is very frustrating and irritating. Yes you can learn not to press too m
uch “pressure” button to avoid this (i guess FIFA 12 defenders behavior will be like). But EA seems to program defenders like that. Also when you are on at taking and lose your ball possession, your player gets pulled back to a programmed position like as he was attached to a huge rubber band. Horrible. Cannot go fight back the ball possession – the cursor switched to someone else. To me, there is too much bad programming in critical areas ( or too less on attacking AI) so that this potentially excellent football sim game becomes disappointing year after another.
Gabber says:
Finally PES will have great gameplay as well as great animations.
Could be the first good PES in 4 years.
murphyr says:
“Universal acclaim is very difficult to come by, we’ve been lucky that for the last few years we’ve had it, and we’ve had it for a very good reason. We are not creating an arcade game, we are not creating something with scripted moments — we’re creating something where your ability, your skill, your timing, the context, the systems within the game are there to support emergent gameplay, rather than predictable, repetitive stuff.”
Now i don’t expect Rutter to pitch up at the annual sales promos and talk the game down but dear oh dear….
theirfan38 says:
Yeah murphyr, Rutter is so gross here…so pathetic…
Not repetitive…wait and see!!!
Keloo says:
What are you talking about people ? The site is running, I can read the interview. http://www.1up.com/previews/fifa-12-interview-soccer-revolution?pager.offset=0
Can Maktar says:
Keloo, you’re right. My explorer is messed up, I guess. It gives me an error page (Error 404) everytime I try to view the site. I managed to read it through a proxy, though…
Keloo says:
ok, or try a different browser. Works on firefox and chrome.
dejilinho PSN says:
I will be so delighted to see the Online Tournament(Competition)mode as it was in FIFA World Cup 2010 naming it European Cup League or something that will not affect the rights Konami has for UCL.
Lewis says:
PES is an anful game i will never play it again after 2010 version fifa all the way!!!
