Chelsea Become EA SPORTS Partner

EA SPORTS partnerships are like buses, and the service this week is frequent to say the least with Premier League powerhouse Chelsea now joining the party. But slightly more interesting is that Chelsea appear to have a few extra bits of exclusivity compared to the Championship clubs.

  • When FIFA 12 launches on Tuesday 30 September, Blues fans will be able to download and print their own free club specific FIFA 12 cover from Chelseafc.com. The cover will feature three star players as well as Stamford Bridge.
  • Fans should also keep an eye out on match days for a dedicated FIFA 12 gaming hub which will be set up at the ground on selected fixtures throughout the season. You’ll be able to get ready for the match with FIFA 12 and EA SPORTS will also have lots of give-aways and special FIFA challenges.
  • If you’ve ever wondered who the best Chelsea player is at FIFA, you’ll be able to find out when the gaming hub pays a visit to the training ground to host the first ever Chelsea Pro Player Tournament. Chelsea TV and EA SPORTS will be there to bring you all the action as they find out who is the best Chelsea FC FIFA 12 gamer.
  • Plus, EA SPORTS will be producing video content including match simulations and stylised player features throughout the season. You will also get the chance to upload your best goals in advance of key fixtures playing as Chelsea in the game.
  • EA SPORTS promotional creative will also be visible on the club’s website where you’ll be able to see the amazing likenesses of Chelsea players in the game.

Literally anyone could be next the way this is spiralling and as soon as we get anymore information on new clubs joing the scheme we’ll let you know.

    Chelsea have had a partnership with EA for like 3 years!

  2. Pearson says:

    Something else that has no effect on gameplay, EA are running out of ideas. Does anybody actually think these partnerships will improve the overall game.

    Money money money.

  5. GJ says:

    Hope they hurry and become partners with Liverpool just so we can get the real LFC faces via the 8 way cameras! :)

  6. Francesco says:

    not related but just a thought. im a bit of an edit mode geek, why dont EA just use all the different hair styles, etc used on real players in the edit mode insted of the same old dross thats there year after year?

  7. Krash says:

    It’s a business for marketing the game and EA Sports brand. The EPL is watched by millions of people from around the world.

  8. John says:

    @Pearson

    You know, this has no effect on gameplay. I doubt the GAMEPLAY team will go out of their way with sponsorship. Each has their own team..

    @Francesco

  10. kenneth says:

    is there any one that can tell me what we get out of this as a fifa player??
    what effect does it have in the game?? someone can tell me because i really dont get it.. who cares what team it is.. there is nothing in it, in the game.. if you are not from that country your team is then no effect?
    its nok like they make stadium, and game faces and so on with this deal…

  11. dibils says:

    man utd next please.. i mean they have a man utd play as their cover star!

  12. Jono says:

    @Mucka

    That’s where you are wrong. PES is the official game of Man Utd.

  13. joel says:

    as long as they improve the actual game and its mechanics, then they can partner with as many teams as they like.

  14. Gavin says:

    Man Utd is with Konami so no EA wont go to them or Spurs

  15. Mert says:

    man utd should still get full face jobs for all their players. i am curious about how much works goes into each face job, and why this cant be done for more players. font they just need a front and side photo? couldn’t they send an email to all the players unions telling them that if a player wants to be properly face jobbed to send in photos themselves?
