EA Considering FIFA Street Elements For FIFA 13?

In an interesting interview with Eurogamer FIFA Street Producer Gary Paterson has revealed that some of FIFA Streets gameplay elements are being “evaluated” by the studio to see if parts of Street Ball Control or Street Dribble could be suitable for the next FIFA title when it’s announced.

Catch the full interview for more info but here’s a snippet of what Gary had to say…

“It’s a very intuitive and elegant mechanic but it’s not something you see too often in real football. But maybe there are elements of it that can be shared and taken. It’s something they’re evaluating right now. I don’t think any decisions have been made.”

From the videos you guys have seen and having played it myself it’s very obvious that much of the Street Ball Control system wouldn’t be suitable for a main FIFA title but as Gary said there are certainly elements which could be adapted to improve the vast potential of FIFA 12′s Precision Dribble. The element in particular which springs to mind is shielding which FIFA hasn’t really done properly since it was ripped from FIFA 10 and never replaced.

Whether any FIFA Street content makes FIFA 13 is obviously up in the air but it’s certainly never a bad thing for the team to share ideas in this way and who knows, Street Ball Control could just fill in the blanks to take Precision Dribble to the next level.

You’ll all be able to try FIFA Street soon when the Demo releases on February 28th and you can catch our interview with Gary Paterson here.

  • only1ronaldo

where in the hell is information about EURO 2012 game?

  • theirfan38

only1Ronaldo, cause today the main objectif is fifastreet, talking about Euro today will be disastrous marketingly speaking for Fifastreet!! And nonsense. Just wait end of march and then we will all know officially if a Euro game will exist…

  • erengurkan

Who said that there is gonna be a Euro 2012 game?

  • Lucas

There won’t be a Euro 2012 game. With the EA team working on FIFA street this time round EA don’t have the staff to make a whole new game, the staff that would work on it are working on FIFA street. The reason being the last FIFA streets sales were poor and EA BIG are now non existent.

Gents there’s still no news what so ever on any Euro 2012 game sadly, if that changes you guys will be the first to know don’t worry but as you’ve all said it’s getting very close to what would be the launch window now and there’s been nothing.

But with FIFA Street so close that may be understandable.

I think they should keep certain skills/skill moves/skill dribbling for the top skilled players in the world, so only they can execute them…would make them feel a bit more real with true to life skills they could actually do but not everyone could do

If there is going to be a Euro 2012 game, which i think there wil be, then credit to the FIFA team working on 4 titles over 12 months. FIFA 12, FIFA Street, Euro 2012 and FIFA 13. Remarkable really if there will be a Euro 2012 game, i feel quite spoilt as FIFA fan lol.

I’m very concerned about this kind of sharing, cause I think that FIFA has a lot of circus moves already. I don’t need more.

I’m very happy with Street cause it has all the things that I hate in FIFA 12: unreal dribbles and colourful balls.

Then I hope that all the guys who loves catch the ball and do a lot of stupid moves go to online rooms of FIFA Circus, sorry Street.

    Brazilian regards.

They should, but too an extent. If they did too much the game would be broken and it would be a very abused feature.
