EA SPORTS Season Ticket Launches

There were rumblings a few months ago about EA SPORTS launching a an annual subscription service for their titles and today it was confirmed in form of the EA SPORTS Season ticket. There are tons of details flying around the internet at the moment but here’s a run down of what you need to know about this brand new EA SPORTS service.

How do I get a Season Ticket?

  • Which EA SPORTS titles are supported?: The EA SPORTS Season ticket provides content and access for Madden NFL, NHL, FIFA Soccer, NCAA Football and Tiger Woods PGA Tour.
  • How much does it cost?: 2000 Microsoft Points or $24.99 in human money.
  • How to buy Xbox Live: 1) Sign in to your Xbox LIVE account 2)Search for and download the free EA SPORTS app from Game Marketplace 3)Locate the EA SPORTS app in your Game Library, and select “Play Game” 4)Purchase EA SPORTS Season Ticket for 2000 Microsoft points.
  • How to buy PSN: 1) Sign in to your PlayStation® Network account 2) Go to PlayStation® Store and search for EA SPORTS Season Ticket 3) Select and purchase EA SPORTS Season Ticket for $24.99

What do I get?

  • Early Full-Game Digital Access: Three days before a game’s scheduled release, fans will be able to download and play the full version of all four participating titles on Xbox 360. After three days, the digitally downloaded game will time out and consumers have the option to purchase the same full game on disc at retail. EA SPORTS Season Ticket subscribers can transfer all achievements earned during the three-day download period to the purchased disc, resulting in an early edge over the competition.
  • Discounted Downloadable Content: Subscribers will get a 20-percent discount on all available downloadable content for participating EA SPORTS titles. Downloadable content, which enhances and refreshes the core game experience, includes such items as Ultimate Team packs, accelerator packs and gear upgrades.
  • Free Premium Web Content: Premium web content extends the game experience beyond the console to a web browser. All participating titles will feature premium web content that will be free to EA SPORTS Season Ticket members beginning with the premium Creation Centre packs for FIFA 12. These packs provide a deeper set of customisation tools and abilities within Creation Centre to build your own teams and tournaments, and will be available to the consumer until the membership to the program has expired.
  • Membership Recognition: Subscribers are easily identifiable with an exclusive membership recognition badge displayed both in-game and on their EASPORTS.com profile.

There’s also a wealth of other information on EA.com and on the shiny new EA SPORTS Season Ticket website where there are some videos featuring none other than FIFA supremo David Rutter.

And here’s the official EA SPORTS Season Ticket trailer for your viewing pleasure.

Well said Tom. Getting the game 3 days early….so what! A lot of people manage to get the game early anyway. This is not the year for EA to be taking the piss. Their rep with the hardcore is at an all time low after 2 years of broken modes and promises. FIX what’s broken before trying to fleece your fans. Shocking!!

If i order from shopto im likely to get this game 3 days early anyway (other shops are available) also get it cheaper than anywhere else without paying £20. EA are dillusional sometimes, drop the price to £10 and release game 2 weeks early using this method and watch the cash roll in.

Well, for the people who only play FIFA it’s not very interesting.

On the other hand, for the ones who play FUT A LOT , and buy packs A LOT. This thing is quite the money savior in the long run.

I mean, if you buy 200$ of packs, you saved 40$ and the EA SPORT TICKET is then a good bargain ^^

    @Tom Mills

The thing is Tom they do regard the masses to be stupid and there are plenty of grown men that behave and act like there 6 years old.

At least it is now clear to see that EA have no respect for the consumer and why they don’t fix broken game modes, leave bugs in the game and try gimmicks to extract more cash from people. Why, because they think people are stupid, and because they can.

EA’s goal isn’t to make the best quality product they can it’s to make the most profit,

I have stopped buying all of EA’s titles over the last couple of years with the exception of Fifa, but after the joke of Fifa11 and seeing how fifa12 is sounding, I don’t think I can buy anything from EA.

The proverbial nail is in place ready to be nailed into fifas coffin. I pray this never happens i love clubs with my B3Z team mates but after 2 years of failed hype and beyond poor customer service if this years game is not something special there are plenty of other games for people to be playing. My fingers are crossed, prove me wrong EA blow me away at gamescom please

Basically you pay your money takedays to try and download it by the time You have downloaded it the Games out con lol

Thanks for the reply Dave! The only other EA title I play is NHL but I agree with you. Not worth it. If it was $10-15 I may have considered it.

Just another big corporation buisness squeezing money from the blind sheep!

The only thing that sounds interesting is the premium web/creation centre stuff. But since that will be offered separately as well, I’m not really seeing a point to this for me. Fifa is the only EA sports title I buy and I don’t care about FUT at all. So for me it’s not worth it.

As far as getting the game 3 days early goes: I really don’t care, I’d personally rather have a free demo than pay 50% of the game price for a 3 day early access.

But with the announcement that people who buy will get the abilty to upload their own images to the creation centre, I have to ask; how long will it be before some joker uploads pictures of genitals or other inappropriate content for their team? I’m guessing first day.

Uh what kind of piece of crap is this?! They are just thinking about taking our money. I get it if this would unlock a ton of new features, but to get the game three days earlier? WTF? I get all my pre ordered games at least 5 days earlier then the release date so this makes no sence. EA are just plain stupid and all they think about is how to take more money from us.

Maybe getting the digital game AT LEAST a week earlier maybe tempting but 3 days???

Come on EA, how are you going to expect people to pay a further £17-£20 just to get the full game 3 days earlier….

I’m more than happy to play the demo until release day, i just hope the demo is out between 2-3 weeks pre release!
