FIFA 12 First Impressions From gamescom

Here we go, hot off the press this morning thanks to EASPORTSFIFA on Twitter is a FIFA 12 first impressions video live from the show floor at gamescom 2011. The general public seem very pleased with FIFA 12 so far, as you’d of course expect from an official EA video but none the less its always nice to gauge the vibe from the show floor.

Have a watch and then let us know what you think.

im totally with you merritt, though i do think that the changes in gameplay this year, if well executed (well have to wait and see for our selves over a long period of time to be really able to see if they did it right) qualify as major changes. And they were needed, because I too play career mode a lot, i am in my 12th season i believe.. But it did get kinda boring sometime, and the ai was never that much fun to play against, although it was beter than fifa 10..
I think the imrpoved ai and slower, more creative playing style and career mode changes were all i wanted for this year, and i think i got it with ffa 12.

    @Total Football

The reason it’s a better game than last year is largely due to the people who constructively criticise the game and bring it’s issues to light. Not because of the people who were patting EA on the back saying well done.

  • Keloo

@Merrit well to some you are considered “blind or dumb” because you can’t see the many “flaws” it has, that makes it such a “horrible game”.

Anyway let the demo come. :D

    @Shake

Really? I’d say it’s more down to Rutter and co’s vision of where Fifa is going as we have already heard from “game changer’s” that thier views are not been listening to have you missed Xaors posts for the past 2 or 3 years?

EA & Konami (as have most other games companies) have always got on fine without feedback from the masses and will continue to do so.

    @ Shake

Also constructive criticism from people that like Fifa is good, constant criticism from people that dont like Fifa is pointless and counter productive.

  • Tom Mills

@totalfootball, just wanted to point out that toby has only been a GC for a short while. His posts over the last few years are the reason he became one.

  • Total Football

Glad you pointed that out but i’d still say Fifa 12 is the best Fifa to date is because of EA and not because of a few on the internet constantly moaning.

  • Tom Mills

It’s hard to say how much influence the community actually has. but take clubs, people moaned all last year about the servers, which has led to EA concentrating on making the mode work well before innovating and bringing in new features. i think that tells you something. they could easily have come up with something else for clubs to slap on the back of the box, but they didn’t, they want to get it working well first.

  • Total Football

Yeah clubs is more a community thing, well if you guys are getting features added for clubs then good stuff.

    @ Total Football

Have you played Fifa12? If not, how do you know it’s the best game to date? Would that because EA and the media told you so.

  • Total Football

I have a couple dutch mates who were at Gamescom both played it a fair bit, they say if you have liked Fifa on nxt-gen this is the best Fifa to date, i have also seen Adam of WENB say the same thing.

How do you know Fifa 12 is not the best? Is it because you listen to everyone on here telling you Fifa 12 is shit?

  • Xaor

We have a fairly obvious influence on the game. Pro Passing, Personality+, and Tactical Defending (that’s three of the most important ‘innovations’ in the last two years) are clearly and specifically aimed at dealing with criticisms levelled at FIFA 10 and 11. The community does have an influence.

More generally, TotalFootball, what is it that you want to see? You seem to have a lot of criticisms about the way this site is conducted, the stuff which is written, including the stuff I write… so what would you do if you were in the position to run/write for this blog which would be so much better?

    @ Keloo

Incredible, noone is allowed to say anything bad against EA or fifa or your a troll. Come on Keloo, if EA didn’t come out with things such as Online pass, UT and Season Ticket and didn’t have half attempted things like the replay theatre then people wouldn’t be so enraged as they’re becoming.

They’re not trolls, they’re just fed up of being sold a game that could be so much better. Most think it’s held back to get more money and I don’t think the annual release helps the game move forward either.

  • opinion

    i like fifa12

  • Tom Mills

ok. the conversation about the comments is done now. tired of reading it.

  • http://fifa12preorder.org Fifa 12 pre order for sure

I have to say, for once i’m actually excited about the latest fifa game

  • JaseBannon

This is my take on this EA have gone years upon years of adding small “trinkets” to the game and calling it “major developments”,We (and i include myself in this) have allowed it to happen,in that we buy it (unfinished game and all) PES are behind Fifa in gameplay and player movement, but in grafics and real faces and atmosphere are way ahead of Fifa, but why will EA coninueto bleed money out of us? cause the casual gamer will continue to supply EA with the money.
