FIFA 12 Rakes In The Awards

Post E3 is a big time for all of the publishers that had games on show because of the many awards that do the rounds to distinguish the best of the best to come out of Los Angeles. But the jewel in the crown is without doubt the Game Critics Awards which has awarded Best of Show at E3 to Bioshock Infinite for 2011, which is a very deserved winner. But what of FIFA 12?

Well, it may not have been voted “Best of Show” but it did pick up the award for Best Sports Game which it hasn’t won for a long, long time. The voting committee for the Game Critic Awards is made up of the 35 top gaming publishing outlets, so it seems the media is fully behind the FIFA 12 bandwagon this year.

As well as the success of picking up the Game Critics Award, FIFA 12 also received over 60 nominations and 20 wins across the multitude of other E3 awards, which is pretty impressive going.

The proof will be in the pudding of course, thoughts?

    Fuck reviewers, fuck critics. What do they know about a game that I dont know? I hate people who check game reviews online to see if its worth buying, just check youtube videos or something. A critic is just like us but gets paid to review games…maybe he goes into deeper things like characters or lighting, but like who cares?

    Gameplay is all that matters

    meh, the community are much tougher critics… we’ll let US decide how good the game is. Awards aren’t a bad thing… I suppose. However their only sampling a small unfinished part of the game. All this to basically say what was already said. “The proof will be in the pudding”. Its best not to over value all the pre-release hype. Take it for what it is, someone else’s opinion.

    reviews are much better because the ppl who reviews games actually can explain the features that make the game good. have a feel instead of watching vids wen u are just viewing even tho some videos can show how good the game is. fifa vids dont actually show clear gameplay atm so reviews are better

    We didn’t get to be able to play FIFA 12 early because we are tyrading PES nazis Gabber. Don’t forget we’ve only played the pre-alpha build though, anything can happen.
