FIFA 12 Will Be A Revolution
Not my words, the words of FIFA supremo David Rutter who according to IGN hinted at big changes for FIFA 12 this year, especially in the gameplay department. Sadly Dave wouldn’t expand on his teasing comment but it seems revolution is very much on the agenda for EA this year.
David Rutter, Line Producer for FIFA 12, promised a “revolutionary year for FIFA… especially in the gameplay department.”
Admittedly this is just a one-liner with little in the way of detail to back up the claim but for a gameplay experience which has been based very much around evolution over the last four years, “revolution” is an interesting choice of words.
Is a revolution coming?

@Frederik the Dane:
Feedback regarding player looks has only come to live now because EA release 2 images of FIFA 12. We can only comment on what we see, right? The most popular and common comments fall back to fixing the bigger nagging issues of FIFA, and while it is widely known how crappy their modelling is, it always falls back to a lower tier of importance.
We will give feedback regarding the next bit of info they give us according to what is shown. If we see any gameplay related items then we can comment on that. For now, we’re talking about how the Kaká model itself isn’t anything new and pretty much only shows better lighting, slightly higher resolution, and better looking “folds” on the jersey (even though the fabric is stiff without loose ends), while the rest remains the unrealistic style we’ve seen for several years now.

Hello guys! could I ask you something: why can’t EA work very hard on the graphics and visual aspects of the game like faces, and at the same time work realy hard on the gameplay for exemple??? I mean the persons working on graphs are the engineers it s not Mr.rutter or Mr Paterson! You see the idea, I mean thay have a special service for the visuals, and I guess completely independant of the gameplay or in game mode or on line mode departement.I can’t understand people when they say yeah they should focus on gameplay instead of graphics. But why not???It’s two different services!!

I hope by this he means a FIFA game without 1000000000 bugs!
Chance would be a fine thing :/

-2vs2 online ladder
-cut the “intro” scene when you play online match
- cut the replays when you play online match (see the replay after the match finished)
-faster head to head matcher online to much buttons to click before begining
-save line up and formations ect, so you dont have to set it up each time you play online.

A revolution? Will they now actually implement ProPassing instead of just talking about it? I won’t believe anything they say until I can play the final version and see it with my own eyes. The last year was too depressing. There were gigantic marketing campaigns going on last year about Personality+ and ProPassing and the the new Career Mode and in the end it was all crap, ProPassing was weakened to a level where they just could have thrown it out of the game and it wouldn’t make a difference. I don’t giva a damn about graphics, they should fix the gameplay and the bugs first and then care about graphics. But the most disastrous thing about FIFA 11 was EA’s support. That was really really disappointing and I was really angry about how they treat their customers. They introduced a new update system where they could update the game when connected to the EA server and what did they do? Nothing. It’s just ridiculous. I’m not very confident that FIFA 12 will be much better than FIFA 11.

Oh FFS! Does anyone really believe anything that this bloke actually says anymore? This is nowt more than the usual early sales pitch. Drip feed us superlatives about how wonderful everything is going to be. Release the game. Then go awol for months whilst we all total up the bugs within 4 hours of playing the game. I dunno. Can we take this guy seriously after the past two releases? What does ‘revolutionary’ actually mean here? That EA will actually test the feckin thing before they release it? That they won’t just make a decision to release a faulty product and will fix endemic flaws before we are asked to part with our hard earned? Its really difficult not to be cynical about these sort of comments. I’m afraid that EA’s attitude towards its consumers over the past 2 years has stripped me of any good faith i have towards this kind of piecemeal drivel.
RustyShackleford says:
How about some playtesting to make sure the game is fit for release?
Got burned by the bugs in Fifa 10, so decided against picking up Fifa 11 on release. After hearing of all the flaws in it, and EA’s reluctance to fix them (the micro-pausing issue was present on the demo- and for that sort of thing to appear in the full game and not be fixed is incredibly shabby) I’m doubting that I’ll be picking up Fifa 12 either.

That’s it a revolution ….that’s all he had to say, he should have kept those words and started working on making this game better gameplay wise not just tweak the graphics and have the same dam game as fifa 10 and 11. If this is the case they can forget my 60 bucks for this release.
jose quintero says:
well, i wish this ea guys fix fifa man, what about the crowd we whant it more realistic when they scored a goal, more celebration when there is a goal, more celebretion when a final cup, cause it is so poor and for real i dont play fifa 11 any more i just play one month that it, cause you play the barclais or same cup you whin it, and at the end the celebretion it is so poor so you espect more fiesta at the end thats the good thing to get to a final but it is so borring, the faces, grass, what aboout the stadiums they are so poor what about milan and inter stadium they are the same, and the cpu dificulty it is so bad we whant it harder, and there is a lot of thinks but they never obey us, and cause of us they have work men came on.
