FIFA 13 – Kinect Integration

FINALLY a video during gamescom that’s not the trailer!

It’s also not gameplay sadly.

It’s a Kinect video, that also shows off a bit of the studio and reveals one new aspect to the Kinect integration that we either missed or didn’t know about, you can use it to change camera angles without pausing too. We like.

You can see more detail on the other Kinect features here and read our mini preview here. If you’re a Sony kinda guy then we’ve got some PS Move details coming up later.

Who from the FSB team has gone to Gamescom to get us gameplay videos of Fifa 13? Thought we’d have some up already.

  • Tom Mills

@David Humber Not sure why you’d think that. Gari from NGB is there, but EA don’t allow recording.

You cant be talking about Gamescom? It’s open to the public and we get video’s recorded off screen from it every year.

My post is awaiting moderation? You guys took offence to my original post lol? If only i was slagging Fifa 13…that would of been cool eh?

  • Tom Mills

@David Humber i’m talking about properly recorded footage.

There’s always shitty shakey cam vids. Prepping some now as a matter of fact.

There was last year… there is some on youtube now, why dont you link to those

  • Tom Mills

@David Humber No. You know the spam filter is automatic eh? Not actually a person who sits there screening incoming posts eh?

Good stuff. Off screen vids are fine as it shows improvemnts no bother especially with todays HD phone recorders and Camcorders.

Has anyone noticed whether your team can be set to a ‘desperately’ attacking mentality in order to mimic real life, i.e. in a scenario where your team is Chelsea and you control a GK, Cech, who can punt/kick the ball over a tremendous distance can you send every men forward without concern for shape or formation (just whomever is brave enough to get in the box); also pressuring as high as possible when an opposing defender has the opportunity to waste time in the corner – can your team (not just one player) actually zone in on the action and show anticipation to be as forward and compact as tactical soundness will allow? At the moment those examples may seem common sense and can be taken for granted but they do not happen in the most competitive, down-to-the-wire 1 v 1 (multiplayer) duels. Sure, they are possible on Pro Clubs (one of my favorite game modes of all time), only because a ridiculous lot of players run to the box on both ends through sheer ‘super sprint’ enthusiasm, and the short black out in goal kicks and other restarts doesn’t allow the A.I. to revert players to a default positions. But have you ever wondered why your Career Mode was not as engaging as it could be? Perhaps one reason is that you do not play as entirely freely as you could, or the A.I. does not offer as much support as would be ideal to get you in context sensitive situations where the urgency (or desperateness) of the moment demands it. As it currently stands, Ultra Attacking does not accommodate the aforementioned scenarios.

@james.b there will be tonnes. It’s filtering out the shit that’s the problem.

Sorry… I failed to mention that this sense of urgency needs to happen “in the dying minutes” :). Is this a concern for anyone else?
