FIFA 13 US Day One Sales Up 42%

FIFA 13 launched in North America on Tuesday and it’s already breaking records up a massive 42% on FIFA 12′s day one sales the year before.

The game shifted approximately 353,000 copies on PS3 and Xbox360 and FIFA gamers racked up an impressive 1.4 million online matches within the first 24 hours. Here’s EA SPORTS Executive Vice President Andrew Wilson with his thoughts..

“We’re thrilled that fans throughout North America have embraced FIFA Soccer 13 in such a big way,North Americans appreciate a great-playing game and their level of engagement with our game is helping to drive the sport’s popularity in the United States.”

We’ll bring you details from the European sales as soon as we get them but by the looks of the US launch, FIFA 13 looks set to smash it’s own records comfortably.

    This is what EA is all about. Creating thse games for the american public. Full of emotion, quick comebacks and ridiculous scores. That’s what they’re all about, pleasing the soccer sons. We want a simulator, EA. A real one.

    Before I bought Fifa 11, I’d always watched the world cup, but had mostly shunned the club game, but in order to learn more about the clubs in the game and because of the ability to watch games on the internet, I started watching real football all the time, from 5am on Saturday to when I’m at work watching CL and EL.

    Put me down as more who prefers similiation to arcade any day. But if you wanted a true sim of course it would take you 90+ minutes to play one game of 2 or 3 goals.
