FIFA 13 Wii U Interview – Eurogamer

The boys (and girls) over at Eurogamer have a rather in-depth interview with FIFA 13 Wii U Producer Matt Prior in which he discusses some of the highs and lows with this years next-gen FIFA offering.

Some of this we knew before from our preview but there’s some more explanation behind why certain features have been missed off (like FUT) compared to the other console equivalents. Mostly it’s because the Wii U version of FIFA 13 was developed along side the main FIFA 13 game which gave the team some unique challenges as well as of course getting to grips with brand new hardware. It’s a really insightful interview and well worth your time.

Matt Prior – “We can’t take a feature they’re working on because we get it working and they change it. We get it working and they change it, alongside all the challenges we already have. It’s not technically feasible. Looking forward we could probably get parity now. But year one is always the most difficult because you’re laying the foundation.”

Basically, this is just FIFA 12. Just like FIFA 11 on the PC was actually FIFA 10.

They’ll have the new menus and squads, but it’s basically FIFA 12. Of course they’ll put 13 on it so they can jack up the price.
