FIFA 16 To Include Women’s National Team

EA SPORTS have revealed that 12 of the best Women national teams will feature in FIFA 16.

FIFA 16 will feature the women’s national teams of Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, England, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Sweden, and the United States of America, once the game arrives on September 22nd in the US. It is expected that FIFA 16 will arrive here in the UK on September 25th for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. The women’s national teams can be used in Kick Off, an Offline Tournament, as well as Online Friendly Matches. David Rutter, VP and GM, EA SPORTS FIFA stated:

Bringing some of the best women’s players and teams in the world to our franchise is a massive event for EA SPORTS, and we are equally excited about bringing millions of fans a new way to play. We’re making sure fans get an authentic experience when playing with Women’s National Teams thanks to our innovative player capture and reference tools, as well as the sophisticated gameplay platform which we will continue to innovate on in FIFA 16.

The official word from EA states:

The team have authentically recreated 12 of the top-ranked teams in the world. Capturing all new player movement was done with meticulous detail and supported by a motion capture session at EA Canada with four top players from United States Women’s National Team, including Sydney Leroux, Abby Wambach, Alex Morgan, and Megan Rapinoe.

The players’ movements helped to build new locomotion for women in FIFA 16 including new walks, runs, sprints, and horizontal movement. Soccer Canada also visited EA to provide full-player references captured using the 360 degree body scanning rig – the references were then used to develop new player models. And the mobile headscanning unit travelled to a variety of tournaments and events around the world to capture facial features including hairstyles to ensure players look as realistic as possible in FIFA 16. Players in the game will look and move in game like they do on the pitch when representing their country.

Abby Wambach, world record holder for International goals scored and forward, United States Women’s National Team also added:

I honestly can’t believe all of the science and technology behind the game itself, let alone getting us into the motion capture suits and eventually into the game. We’re all excited to see ourselves in the game, but even more excited to see the reaction from all of the fans, including the fans of our team that maybe wouldn’t be expecting something like this from EA SPORTS.

  1. Seriously….. Wouldnt all the time and money invested in creating 12 women football team be of better use in other part of the sorry game that is Fifa at the moment ?

I have nothing against women in soccer or in videogames but what is the point of those 12 team ? Aside from the one test game or two we’ll play with it ? Imo this offers nothing, neither to reckon women in football nor to improve the game itself.

It’s yet another garbage move by EA so we talk about the game….. Anyway, we’ll be able to spot pretty effectively the professional reviews sponsored by EA as even the slightest mention of a feature that insignificant will be a huge tell…

FIFA 16 is gonna be the same garbage as 13/14/15.

  2. can’t find a more useless feature to have in the game, i would have spent the same cash or even much more to secure MUCH more leagues, to make FIFA game more playable for all countries, am a loyal fan from Egypt, buying their games up from fifa 98, and yet i didn’t get the Egyptian League even once, now i will pay to see Chinese women national team, they could have even secured the Europe league or the UEFA champions league….

  3. so dissapointed! why waste so much time and money for this!?

I will get so angry if they dont get the Champions League license and especially if they dont do A LOT in the career mode!
Hopefully a STORY MODE like NBA2K games! IF NOT IM NOT BUYING THIS SHI….!
And i dont wanna see anything about their money maker Ultimate fantasy shi i i it!

  4. Konami have held the license and have been renewing it, I’m not sure how the license works but I’d imagine they have some sort of deal that they get first dibs on it and being as EA won’t even let them have more than a single licensed Premier League team I can’t see Konami giving it up.

  5. I read somewhere it isnt about renewing, its 3-year licence, in open auction, whoever wins get it, but can be re-acquired by other smaller brands on conditions set by the winning side of the auction

  6. Well looking at the deals to date it seems Konami have had to require it yearly for the last 3 years but being as that means EA have had three chances to pull the rug from under Konami’s feet and failed I’d wager that Konami are putting big money into it. When you consider that EA restrict what Konami can use with licenses the EUFA license is their bread and butter, I can’t see them letting it go easily.
