GAME Cancel FIFA Street Pre-orders

Today’s hottest gaming news is that UK retailer GAME have cancelled all pre-orders on EA published titles, which includes of course, FIFA Street.

SSX will be the last game to go on sale meaning that Mass Effect 3 has also been cut from the retailers roster. Perhaps more concerning is that there are rumours of deposits only being refunded with store credit which is sure to infuriate many gamers who’ve now been let down.

The ramifications for GAME and how they plan to survive without selling blockbuster EA titles are obviously much wider and their place on the high-street is now in firmly in jeopardy.

    ive pre ordered my copy of fifa street from game so will i get my money back ?

    @Greg Gordon I’d give the store you pre ordered from a call. Some places say you can ONLY get store credit, but someone here said they got a refund and an apology. You’ll get your deposit back one way or another.

    @Tom Mills thanks for the replies. i thought that game was a company that worked the same way in every country. guess im a lucky guy then because i dont have to go through the hassle of ordering it somewhere else. just one last question why would they cancel these kind of stuff?

    @contte they’re having financial “troubles” and have decided that it’s in their best interests to not stock EA games for a while. I doubt it will be a permanent thing.

    gamestation is part of the game brand isnt it? so does that mean that it will be cancelled from their as well?

    @J-O-S-H-I-D-E-R Definitely I cancelled my preorder at Gamestation today. They have removed all reference to Fifa Street from the store.

    I’m trying to find a store who will provide the same pre-order bonus as well, Play.com picked up GAMES, mass effect pre-order bonus. So I imagine it will be play.com again? Just a theory.
