New FIFA 12 Premier League Screenshot
To celebrate the start of the Barclays Premier League season the guys over at EA SPORTS have released a brand new FIFA 12 screenshot which looks pretty shit hot. I’d recommend paying particular attention to the crowd, which for the first time looks half decent. David Rutter did mention a few months back that work on the crowd had taken place for FIFA 12, maybe this is it?

@Joey: Totally agree spend less time on graphics and more time making it harder for me to run into my own players because they have no concept or idea on how to create space. AI in 11 was so frustrating. Hoping there is a noticeable improvement at gamescom on Tuesday. If I ever run into one of my players in another FIFA title ever again while im trying to create space and hes just standing there watching me… It might be the last FIFA I ever buy. IMO there is just no excuse for stuff like that.
Frederik the Dane says:
Funny, but I’ve NEVER experienced what you describe there, Mike.
But I suppose that is a matter of attacking strategy? I pass the ball a lot to create openings and then finishing it off with a trough ball or high pass/cross to a striker. The amount of goals I have scored through running around trying to make openings are few.
And again I am amazed how negative so many people are (the following is not to Mike but in general!). I don’t understand why anyone would play a game that they appear to hate with so much passion!? I enjoy FIFA 11, just as I have enjoyed most earlier FIFAs. I want perfection like everyone else, but accept that it is not going to happen. Every year they add a bit to the game, and I appreciate it, ’cause even though we are far from perfection still, the games are very much enjoyable! That is why I keep playing them, and why I don’t complain. The games are great fun, and I have to believe that all the moaners out there actually like the games as well, if they keep playing them.
If not; get a life. It is too short to spend on doing things you don’t like :P

here here Mike Astuto. just no excuse really.
Mike Astuto says:
@Frederik: I do on a whole still very much enjoy FIFA. There are a lot of fun things about FIFA11. I’ve been playing the series since probably 03 or 04 and I love the progress its made. But for me FIFA11 was a step backwards. Especially from FIFA WC10. CM lacked any depth at all which is probably my favorite game mode, the AI was very stagnant in attack as previously mentioned. The defensive AI is over powerful and almost knows what you’re doing before you do it. Unless you do tricks its almost impossible to beat your man one on one. It was a very frustrating title for me. Im still very excited for FIFA12 and plan to buy it on release day. But overall 11 imo wasn’t the best job EA have done.
Frederik the Dane says:
@Mike
That’s all I wanted to hear :)
I agree with you that FIFA11 hasn’t been the best game of the franchise, but I still find it very enjoyable. I just want to hear people acknowledge the game WHILE complaining about it’s short-comings. I very much agree with you on the Career Mode, but I am very optimistic about the mode in FIFA12. Also I agree on the AI being too almighty in FIFA11, but I believe/hope they will have it all balanced out with the new defending gameplay. It hopefully also applies to the AI :)

frederik you are spot on!! fair enough people are allowed their opinions, particularly those who claim “they pay ea’s wages” of sorts, but such opinions do make the game better!! In all honesty im delighted at the fact that these guys pay attention to the gamers and fans and make changes where they can based on our opinions, other developers are not as ‘public’. I Know im grateful.
I honestly cant wait for fifa 12 and am not going to start picking it apart because i love playing it,simple.
I mean absolutely no dis respect to anybody because like i said opinions make this game what it is,i just think what ‘the perfect fifa’ is to one person could be a mile off somebody else! For all we know they could be working on the for mentioned AI runs etc ,and could have been for years, but dont want to risk chucking in a half finished job!
Put simply,ea are making this game as fun and as realistic as possible to cater for everybodys differing fifa needs and playing styles. :)
p.s Love the blog guys

PES King says:
PES will be better tha Fifa overall but Fifa’s graphics are much better
Keloo says:
Because of a different policy ? But anyway on thursday we’ll get gameplay footage, I hope so, and we’ll know when the demo comes out, hope sooner then last year. :D
Footy says:
People who tell that PES is better on this gen consoles must be deaf and blind…one question to them, are we playing same game gentlemens?

Got a date thursday. Will be on the iphone. No doubt.
Mike Astuto says:
The whole PES vs FIFA thing is getting kinda gay. Last yr and maybe the last 2 yrs neither game has really been worthy of being called “the best.” And PES hasn’t been the best for a while. Not to mention being the best is different for almost everyone. It almost always comes down to preference. Im not trying to attack @PESKing or anyone else. It just gets old seeing FIFA vs PES on every forum. If we’re saying authentic gameplay is what makes a game best… Which is probably how I would define best if I had to… PES has looked really good from what I’ve seen and heard. However we haven’t seen a single second of FIFA gameplay aside from that Man City video from a terrible blurry angle which looked like it was being played on pro difficulty. So how ON EARTH at this point could anyone conclude which is going to be the better game.

TotalFootball says:
Until Konami make the jump into this gen it really is not in the same league, as Fifa as watching the PES video’s released the animations look as if they belong in the PS1 days i swear they are not as good as PES on PS2. Then you have the sound on PES it’s awful if it’s not the awful commentary it’s the awful gunshot noise of the ball when you shoot and if it’s not that it’s the crazy chants that Konami make themselves instead of using real chants.
I dont know maybe this year PES will be the real deal, Amazing gameplay, Amazing Graphics, Amazing Animations, Amazing Sound, Amazing presentation, if you listen to all the guys that have played it they certainly convince that PES is the real deal this year but lets be honest they say the same things year after year. The proof is in the pudding as they say instead of listening to people who are constantly getting perks from Konami to say good things about their game.
Right now Fifa is miles ahead of PES.
sam says:
i think PES and FIFA are both really good football games but FIFA is the best game EVER invented i think.

I’ve been playing FIFA the three last years after being a PES fan and I must confess: yes, you can have fun with PES as well. I think that both games, when crossed, would make our ‘ideal’. Gamepace in FIFA looks a tad bit better, although the defensive system and defensive AI of each CPU controlled team in PES is like miles ahead of FIFA’s. Not to mention your defenders, who don’t behave like retarded robots as in FIFA. They surround and press, and cover. In FIFA, every defender behaves like a school boy playing football in the school’s court.

I don’t why but I realy think that this year we can have a huge surprise…
And I am sure that the rate of game resold for fifa12 will be huge on december/january…
