If you want to get an early taste of FIFA Street then look no further than this excellent write up from IncGamers who went hands-on with EA SPORTS surprise re-make at Gamescom. Good information on the way the game is shaping up and wonderfully written too, couldn’t recommend this highly enough.

“Being the moody cynic that I am, I went into the FIFA Street meeting with little to no expectations given the sub-par offerings of previous games in the series. Happily, I came out optimistic and eager to play more.”

A Little More FIFA 12 Gameplay

I was doing a quick search of the interweb this morning, looking for any FIFA 12 gameplay I’d perhaps missed, when I stumbled on this bad boy from Gamersyde. Now I hadn’t seen this one before although I’m sure most of you have, but for me it’s head and shoulders above any of the FIFA 12 gameplay videos we’ve seen so far.

Particularly the use of the ball and dribbling from the AI which is exemplary throughout. The movement up top still seems a little static but the pacing and flow of the general play looks very decent. Games are very difficult to judge based purely on video but as I said at the start I think this is the best we’ve seen by far.

FIFA 12 Demo: Team Ratings

We now know all of the details about the FIFA 12 demo teams, stadium, weather, match time and a surprise list of tutorials too, but what about the team ratings? We know you guys like a lot of this ratings stuff especially when it comes to your supported clubs so straight from gamescom we can bring you these screenshots.

Massive thanks once again to Asim Tanvir for taking these, although based on a few recent and impending departures I think Arsenal’s star rating might be dropping down a notch…

Well they aren’t live any more but these FIFA 12 and FIFA Street Q&A’s with David Rutter and Gary Paterson were recorded live just a few minutes ago from gamescom, so that makes the post title just about valid.

The most important thing of course is the detail they contain so check out the two links below and we’ll sort the embedding of the videos out shortly.

There’s live gameplay going on during the FIFA 12 Q&A with David Rutter so its well worth a watch for that alone. And once Gary and Rom finished staring lovingly in to each others eyes they discussed some seriously awesome FIFA Street details.

FIFA 12 First Impressions From gamescom

Here we go, hot off the press this morning thanks to EASPORTSFIFA on Twitter is a FIFA 12 first impressions video live from the show floor at gamescom 2011. The general public seem very pleased with FIFA 12 so far, as you’d of course expect from an official EA video but none the less its always nice to gauge the vibe from the show floor.

FIFA 12: Online Producer Blog

Since the announcement of FIFA 12 Online Seasons during the EA Press Conference at gamescom we’ve been craving some more meat on the online bones and finally we have it courtesy of a Producer Blog by FIFA 12 Online Producer, Garreth Reeder. If you aren’t already you really need to be following him on Twitter.

“For all you manual fiends out there, during pre-search you can also choose ‘Any’ or ‘Manual’ if you want to guarantee another manual user. When you choose to search, we take your Division, skill, location, controls, DNF % (essentially how often you ‘rage quit’), and Club star level to find an ideal opponent and take you straight into a match. We even make sure you see the kit you chose and prevent kit clashing in the game.”

Next-Gen Gaming Blog: FIFA 12 Gameplay

As I’m sure you’re all aware by now the lucky Mr Asim Tanvir editor in chief of Next-gen Gaming Blog is in attendance at gamescom 2011 and on his travels he visited the FIFA 12 show floor a couple of times and he managed to capture this 10 minute gameplay video for us, huzzah!

Most of what we’ve seen so far has been short and sharp so it’s much better to see something a little more in depth with some context added to the passages of play, instead of them being chopped up, or abruptly stopped like in some of the other FIFA 12 gameplay videos. It’s not Asim playing, he sneaked up on some unsuspecting bystanders and filmed them instead.

gamescom: FIFA 12 “Best Console Game”

Yes you read the title correctly, because before gamescom 2011 has even been opened to the general public FIFA 12 has been crowned “Best Console Game” by an independent jury of gaming media experts. Quite an achievement so early in the show, i’m sure you’ll agree.

Here’s a run down of all the awards handed out at gamescom so far and EA in general have done very well indeed.

Best of gamescom: Battlefield 3 - Electronic Arts

Best Hardware or Hardware Accessories: Playstation Vita – Sony Computer Entertainment.

Best Console Game: FIFA 12 – EA SPORTS

Best Mobile Game: Uncharted: Golden Abyss - Sony Computer Entertainment

Best Online Game: Star Wars The Old Republic – Electronic Arts

Best PC Game: Diablo III - Blizzard Entertainment

Best Browser Game: The Sims Social Electronic Arts

Best Family Game: Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster – Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment

So the gaming media love it, Lukas Podolski loves it, but how do you think FIFA 12 is looking at gamescom 201 so far?
