So you want a 2010 FIFA World Cup exclusive do you? But not just any exclusive, not just “England have been programmed to lose on penalties every single time they occur” or “playing as Cristiano Ronaldo will unlock a hidden minigame called Handbags”.

Do you often play games for 24 hours straight? Well in that case you’re crazy and you must be really tired a lot of the time, but if you’d like to make the record books and you think you can do it, Stryxa are hosting an official FIFA 10 Guinness World Record attempt on Tuesday 26th January (this year) at St. Paul’s Church in Covent Garden, London.

All the FIFA sites are currently focused on the upcoming July 15th NDA expiry, with several sites finishing up their previews and articles about the sparkly new features we’ll be playing with come FIFA 10’s release. But in the meantime, here’s a little article from EA themselves about FIFA 10’s online play.
The official EA SPORTS FIFA Blog was updated a few days ago with an article imaginatively entitled FIFA 10: The Online Game. See the snippet below…
A common complaint we hear is the lack of visibility in our ranking formulas. We addressed this, so now at the end of each game, you will see how many ranking points you got, broken down by criteria: team level, rank level and our brand new match performance rating. Even if you lost, having played the game well (good passing % for instance) will get you extra ranking points.

Did you know that over 280 million games of FIFA 09 have been played online? If the average game is played with five minute halves (excluding extra time, penalties or the guys who quit after you score a goal), that’s 1,944,444 days – 46.6 million hours or 2.8 billion minutes – all spent playing FIFA.
Don’t feel like a geek, half of those minutes are probably ours.
