But anyway, apology aside these are the PS3 and Xbox360 covers for FIFA Street you can expect to see in stores March 13th when you’ll all be able to get your hands on retail copies of the game. You’ve all seen the screenshot before I’m sure but doesn’t it look prettier on the front of the box?

The prize on offer once again is a cool 20,000 USD and the much coveted VIP trip to the Ballon d’Or Gala where you’ll be able to rub shoulders with the greatest footballers on the planet.

There will be 6 online FIWC 2012 qualifiers in total and here are the details:

Online Season 2: 5 January-25 January, 2012

Online Season 3: 1 February-25 February, 2012

We’ll be using this post to announce when things go live. Currently the expected times, according to EASPORTSFIFA are as follows:

PS3 (N America) – 13th Sept *from* 2pm PST

PS3 (EU) – 14 Sept *from* 5pm

The PC demo was expected from 10am, but it’s already live. Link below. It’s from the EA website and it’s the one I’ve downloaded.

*UPDATE 2* A few users have experienced issues with installing the FIFA 12 demo with FIFA 11 still installed on their machines. The simplest fix is to back up your FIFA 11 saves, uninstall, then install the demo. Thanks to JC in the comments for his help figuring that out.

*UPDATE 3* There have also been issues with downloads stopping at 99%. One fix we’ve seen is to turn your XBOX off, then try to download again, it should skip to 98% then straight to 100%. Thanks to BlueOggster from the FVPA for that. Let us know if it works for you.

The FIFA 12 code we have access to is on the PS3, we expect these trophies to be exactly the same on Xbox 360 however we don’t know the allocation of Microsoft achievement points (G). But from the PS3 gold, silver, bronze breakdown you get a pretty good idea.

Bronze Trophies

Precision Tackler – Obtain a successfull tackle percentage of 80% with a minimum of 5 tackles in a game.

Don’t Blink – Score within the first five minutes of a game in a game against the cpu.

Which leaves us with just one question, who’s going for Platinum?

“EASPORTSFIFA: Correction on the demo dates: PS3 users in Europe will get it 14th September; everywhere else on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 is 13th.”

The reason behind this delay is most likely out of EA’s hands and purely down to when the different regions of the Playstation Store are updated, but still it’s a bit of a kick in the pods for the European FIFA fan base.

US PSN accounts at the ready then…

There are two types of design. One with players, and one without. The Fulham and Derby announcements specify the use of star players, whereas the Man City one doesn’t, but that’s not to say it won’t have them. Quite what we can expect from Playstation Move, or Kinect for that matter is still uncertain but FIFA 13 is certainly shaping up to be an incredibly “active” iteration in the franchises history.

Personally I’m still not sold on the whole motion control idea as I much prefer pad in hand, minimal clothing and Stella on ice. Still, it will be very interesting to see where this motion phase in gaming history takes FIFA 13.

It’s broken its own World Record by some margin too. FIWC 2010 waltzed in to the record books with an eye watering 775,000 participants, which has now been easily topped by FIWC 2011′s astonishing 869,543 entrants, wow. With this years pre-registering for the FIWC 2011 at an all time high it was “rumoured” very early on that the tournament would go on to break its own World Record, but still a fantastic achievement none the less.

This does however leave us with two very big questions. Can the FIWC break the one million barrier next year? And when will an equivalent competition come to the Xbox360?

FIFA 12 will launch on the PS3, Xbox360, PC, PSP, Wii, Nintendo 3DS, PS2, iPhone, iPad and it will also makes its first appearance on the MAC too. No mention yet on the PSVita but once Sony’s latest handheld drops you’d expect EA SPORTS and FIFA to be hot on its heels.
