The Transfer Window Slams Shut

And that means that EA now enter the very final stages of FIFA 13 development before the game goes “gold” and those all important disks get printed.

But the landscape of FIFA 13 has as always shifted violently on the final day of transfer activity and with big spending Man City picking up Javi Garcia, Maicon, Scott Sinclair, Nastasic and ummm Richard Wright so you’d expect them to be the weapon of choice online along with Chelsea, Real Madrid and of course Barcelona.

Elsewhere it was a good window for Spurs who failed to bring in Moutinho but did managed to grab Dempsey and Lloris before the deadline closed, both for bargain fees. Arsenal and Liverpool fans on the other hand will now have to look to Career Mode to right the wrongs of their clubs lack of spending last night and for that reason the next 27 days are likely to be even more depressing.

But that’s it, FIFA 13′s final hurdle has been jumped and now it’s time to focus on the demo and the all important release on the 25th/28th September.

Who do you think was the best deadline day deal, and who do you think was the worst? Vent your anger or joy at your teams last minute deals in the comments.

  • Matthew Barker

    @marcelo ofc there going to update fifa 13 with transfers? :/

  • Matthew Barker

    Some of you make me laugh, Your all rather stupid with most of your comments

  • Marcelo

    @Mathew Barker u dont understand I’m asking if they are going to update like they did after the january transfer window

  • Gui Cramer

    @Marcelo:
    Yes, FIFA will ship with proper transfers done in this period up to the deadline.

    It will be impossible to agree on best/worst transfers, I for one disagree that 13 million pounds for Lloris is a good deal. I also find it hard to believe Lyon to be in financial problems as they’re one of – if not – the best managed teams in the planet. They don’t allow themselves to overspend but you should not see that as being troubled financially.

    They take a responsible approach building the best they can from specific budgets and guidelines. To win the Champions League will either take a great combination of results and top talent coming through the Lyon youth ranks (and I mean through the ranks, not buying 13-16 year olds like many European clubs do and fans foolishly lie to themselves), or they’ll have to spend wisely to add undoubted talent to allow them to beat the very top clubs.

    Transfer window in France still open until 4 SEPTEMBER… Ajax’s Gregory Van de Wiel to PSG on that basis…so how many other leagues really don’t do what England does…and does FIFA wait for them too?

    Richard Wright – one week he’s having a TRIAL with Preston North End , the next he is increasing his wages ten fold by joining City , the question is ……… Has anyone got the number/contact details of his agent! He is a legend :)

    Speaking of transfers – is there any info on the transfer frequency/stupidity of the AI clubs? They buy the same players every time and every major player has changed his team atleast twice after 3 seasons. It’s no fun playing against seemingly “random” Top-clubs who change players around like T-shirts. Any changes noted there or is it still the same?

    @Gui Cramer finally… thanks bro
