We’re Off To EA SPORTS Vancouver

Canada Calling

That’s right folks, myself and Tom are heading to Canada on July 15th to visit the home of FIFA – EA SPORTS Vancouver!

 

We’ll be spending three full days with the team at EAC as part of their “Summer Showcase” where we’ll be playing the very latest FIFA 13 code, talking to the devs and seeing many of the as yet unannounced modes and features.

The bad news is that there is an embargo covering our trip, but we will be able to discuss the already announced gameplay features and we’re especially looking forward to seeing what’s changed since our last playtest. The good news though, is that the embargo is short and by the time we touch back down in the UK you’ll have just a few days to wait for the full lowdown. We’ll be bringing you hands-on previews, daily blogs, podcasts, opinion, interviews and much, much more.

As I’m sure you’ll agree this represents a huge opportunity for FIFASoccerBlog and the Kitana Media Network as a whole so we’d like to extend our thanks to EA SPORTS for helping us get to EA Vancouver.

We’ll be looking for FSB community input a bit closer to the time but hopefully you’ll join us in our excitement by hitting the comments.

    Congrats guys, you guys deserve it for the work you do for the community. Would appreciate if you ask them if they could please add a slider for ball weigh? The way it would work would be that if you set the slider to the very lowest the ball is as light as a balloon but if you set it to it’s max it would be really heavy do this would affect the bounciness of the ball. So if someone wants to tone down the first touch bounces they can do it and vice versa. It should be set at 50% as the default setting for ball weight and at 50% it should perfectly reflect the correct ball weight and the way it bounces. Please ask them about this on my behalf.     Another simple option I would love for EA to put in would be a “player lock” option. I know there is Be A Pro mode, but sometimes a mate and myself just want to create a tournament and only control 1 player each. We had a lot of good times playing Captain your Country mode in 2010 WC

    Can you ask them if i will be able to play this 1 for more than 6months.
    My game just lags all the time, does not matter if its online or offline.
    Someone told me its due to having a 120gb ps3 slim and its the hdd that causes it. (not sure how true this is as nobody from EA will answer me)

    Cheers keeping tabs on the Pes blog as i may well have to buy that instead :(

    @ Walks If your game lags offline, its certainly not the games fault. Unless maybe your disk is scratched or dirty.

    @David Humber there will be plenty of things we can talk about “live” whilst we’re in EAC but some things we can’t discuss until we’re back. It will not be a blackout content wise, far from it.

    We have lots and lots of plans…

    how many unlockable kits we will have in football club and if we can use them in career mode or only football club

    and for interchangeable kits..

    Has the ball weight/physics been improved? I mean, it’s alright but there’s always room for improvement.

    keep checking for an update every day, even though i know fsb isn’t going to vancouver until the 15th!!!

    Any chance we’ll get some news from career mode until then ?
    Can’t wait to know more about it as last year they said the MM was to be fully rebuild in 2 or 3 years.

    Dear Mr. David, could you ask them about tactical freekicks? From what I’ve read, there are no significant changes to the freekicks system. Freekicks are not only about shooting directly at the goal, but it is also about creating dangerous set-pieces all over the pitch (at the very least around the final attacking third) to punish the opponents. Don’t you think it’s about time we get to see (or create) freekicks much like England’s Steven Gerrard’s fabulous delivery for Lescott to plant in a powerful header into the French net, or Mellberg’s header amid a mass of dozing defenders to meet Seb Larsson’s free-kick?? thanks and I really appreciate the work you guys do for the fans.
