Where Is The FSB FIFA 12 Review?

A valid question and one which I’m sure at least a few of you will have asked yourselves by now. Well, rather than releasing with the gaming media we decided to do things a little differently this year with our FIFA 12 Review and we think with good reason.

We’re pleased to inform you that the FIFA Soccer Blog FIFA 12 Review will launch on October 7th (Friday) a full week after the UK release date and here’s why…

  • We want this to be your FIFA 12 review as much as our own. Waiting a week enables all of you to hammer the game meaning you can contribute your own feedback in the comments once we release, creating the definitive FIFA 12 community review.
  • FIFA 12 is a massive game, too much for one man to do justice so this year we’ve decided to break the game down in to its component parts, reviewing and scoring them individually, this simply takes more time.
  • We wanted to base our FIFA 12 review on the same  retail code that you guys would be playing and to properly access each game mode, over a weeks solid play is a bare minimum.
  • We wanted to be able to asses any bugs/glitches that made it in to FIFA 12 retail code, as they will obviously have a huge bearing on how we score it.

Hopefully those reasons are good enough for you guys and we appreciate this is a different strategy to the norm, but it’s one we feel necessary to provide the right type of feedback to EA. Here’e Friday’s schedule:

9:00am – FIFA 12 Gameplay Review – Suffwan

10:00am – FIFA 12 Career Mode Review – Tom

11:00am – FIFA 12 Online Modes Review – Toby

12:00pm – FIFA 12 Ultimate Team Review – Dave

01:00pm – FIFA 12 Features Review (Creation Centre, Replay Theatre, Custom Audio, Edit Mode) – Dave/Tom

02:00pm - FIFA 12 Review Verdict – All

Our final FIFA 12 score will take an average of all the marks awarded in each mode review so it will be (we think) the only review that reflects FIFA 12 as a whole package and not just it’s top level successes. So begin to prepare your own thoughts gentlemen because on Friday FSB needs you to contribute to our FIFA 12 review!

    To be fair, you can hammer this game for a week and still not find everything, there is that much going on.

    So far I’ve only played some online head to head manual games and I’m loving it.

    Will be checking all the other stuff at the weekend when I have more time.

    is it me or have the refs really gone bad. they sometimes give penalties that are not even worthy of a free kick. and sometimes they dont give penalties when the gk trips my player. they give very bad decisions almost every game.

    Glitch I’ve Found…Career Mode

    Put a player for sale…then choose to take them off the transfer list. Suddenly it says they were purchased this season.

    at peter, maybe the players you listed for transfer were actually purchased recently. by your current club. I tried to purchase a player on loan , at it indicated i had to wait until that player returned to it’s parent club

    Hi

    Please can you help, I am a very big fan of all the Fifa games, however I am having major online issues with the new Fifa 12 game. As soon as I try and play online either head to head or with my pro my internet goes amber and then throws me out of the game. The first day I bought it which was Friday 3oth Sept it was fine, but for the last 5 days I have not been able to play a full game online. At first I thought it was me internet, but I have tried other games and they work fine. Please help as im going mad!

    Absolutely great idea guys! That kind of information is needed when you go these kinds of websites/blogs to find information. Not the quick one, but long and mulipart review is way to go. Maybe even some other websites start to learn from you guys.

    Hey guys can you please help, it’s driving me crazy!!! What has happened to the Player (only) Career Mode. No more playing with the reserves or being dropped for games or anything?? All of a sudden a 71 OVR is replacing Downing. WTF? Am I just going mad or have they just completely gotten rid of any of the features in the mode?

    I’ve played career mode as a manager for Atalanta in Serie A. I’ve played 10 matches so far on professional difficulty with 10 minute halves and guess what, I haven’t seen even one yellow card, let alone a red!
    In addition to that, the gameplay, in general, is all over the place, it feels so damn unnatural. Can’t describe it better than that. One of the major annoyances is that the CPU dribbles too much and in an idiotic looking way.

    The “flow” of matches against the CPU hasn’t been right since FIFA08. Sure, the gameplay elements have evolved and can look nice if looked at individually, but the package as a whole is broken.
