Will EA Drop Andy Gray For FIFA12?
That’s the big question on everybody’s lips. Gaming site Eurogamer managed to get in contact with EA today to ask them about the sacking of Sky pundit Andy Gray and if it could potentially effect FIFA12? EA’s response however was understandably predictable…
“EASPORTS has not made any announcements about our in-game commentators for FIFA for 2011. Those announcements will be made later this year.”
Whether Gray is in or out ones thing’s for sure the audio team at EAC will be having kittens at the prospect of losing lines of commentary built up over the course of three years. A huge amount of time and effort has been invested in the Tyler/Gray partnership and whether you love or hate them replacing that much audio will be a gargantuan task.
On the other hand this could be a blessing in disguise, maybe its just time for a change of FIFA commentary scenery?

how about this concept, multiple commentary teams on one disc. doh!
with a random setting, so you never can tell who’s gonna commentate, or competition specific pairings. duh!
mix it up, EA.

It seems we’re all pretty much in agreement that ditching Gray/Tyler would be a good thing then. Although EA do have a history of supporting “damaged” sports stars take Tiger Woods for example. Its not a certainty he’ll go yet but his position is almost untenable.
That doesn’t mean Martin Tyler has to go though, so maybe just one in to replace Gray?
I think Richard Keys is free at the moment?
Oh wait……

Just to give my two cents on this. Yes what they did was wrong and im sorry but Sky had no option to sack Gray. But those “Loose Women” get away with murder, that is the most sexist thing ever to be on tele. They just treat men as objects and nothing more. All that show ever talks about is sex and drink, but because they are women no-one cares. I saw in one newspaper today that on “Have i got news for you” the female comedian Jo Brand was asked “Whats your favourite man?” She replied with “A dead one!” Now yes this is funny and i understand its just comedy but imagine if roles were reversed and a man said his favourite woman was a dead one, there would be an absolute uproar like there has been with this situation. Ill say again they were both idiots and have been treated rightly, overlooking the fact it was just LADbanter.
Now on to FIFA 12. I would personally keep all the work that has already been done with Tyler/Gray but bring new commentators in. I would love it to be Alan Green from 5live as i believe he is the best in the business but also bring in Clive Tyldesley as he did a great job on WC2010. EA should then let us decide who will commentate on the game but also include a random option. This would keep a part of FIFA that has started to become stale much more fresh and in my opinion would be a welcome addition.

there are plenty of good commentators besides those 2 if you guys watch football….which i have no doubt you do. Easy replacements if you ask me andy gray is good be there are others just as good as him.
And dont even get me started on the other commentaries

Get in Chris Kamara and Dean Windass!
Josh Wrzyszcz says:
Chris Kamara yes! But Dean Windass? Have you not seen him on soccer saturday? He makes my ears bleed :|

Red Card Soccer with Chris Kamara!
Get rid of Tyler and Gray. They are too boring, both in real life and in the game.
Tom Mills says:
Loads of love for Kamara. Quite right too.
Mr Bealings says:
How about David Pleat for just pure comedy value!
The Man of the Hour says:
Keep Gray. Record more lines with him. He’s good. I don’t give a shit what he said. Women do the same shit.
Witheld says:
Mark lawrenson would be perfect, dont you think?
